New Delhi, Jan 30: Sikh groups broke open the police barricades and marched towards the Congress office in the Capital. This comes after Rahul Gandhi admits Congress's involvement in the 1984 riots in a television interview.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal on Thursday staged a protest outside Congress office reacting sharply to Rahul Gandhi's recent comment on 1984 riots.

Sikhs are holding massive protest and waving black flags against Congress demanding SC monitored SIT to probe into 1984 carnage outside Congress Headquarters in New Delhi.

When asked whether Congressmen were involved in the 1984 riots, Rahul asserted that "some Congress men were probably involved and they have been punished."

"Rahul Gandhi's remarks during an interview that some Congressmen were probably involved in the 1984 riots has caused discomfort and pain amongst the Sikh community, especially large number of families whose members were killed and injured by mobs and properties burnt and looted," said Manjit Singh, president DSGMC.

He added that the case of missing charge sheet against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar from Nangloi police station should also be produced before the court.
