Salman Khan sentenced to 5 years in jail: Shocking tweets by celebrities create new controversy
Mumbai, May 6: Salman Khan has been sentenced to prison for five years. A Mumbai court on Wednesday, May 6 convicted the Bollywood superstar in 2002 hit-and-run case.
Salman was one among the most popular actors on Bollywood. The entire film industry is saddened and disappointed with the court verdict. Celebrities across the country expressed their solidarity with Salman.

However, a few celebrities like singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and jewellery designer Farah Khan crossed all limits while showing their support to the actor.
Both celebrities criticised the victims who were crushed under Salman's SUV on Sept 28, 2002. Instead of criticising the actor, the celebrities blamed the person who had slept on the footpath.
Abhijeet and Farah's tweets created a fresh controversy on micro-blogging site Twitter where people slammed the two celebrities.
