Gurmehar Kaur is the talk of the town after she launched a campaign, " I am not scared of ABVP." Gurmehar who is the daughter of Kargil martyr Captain Mandeep Singh had in one of her earlier videos had posted a message, "Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him."

She has been supported, trolled, abused praised etc. There were even jokes on Twitter and one of the best came from former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who said, "I didn't score two triple centuries, my bat did."

Let us keep the jokes apart for now, and focus on what Gurmehar had to say about war and not Pakistan killed her father. Nobody likes a war -- ask any army personnel in India and he will tell you that.

India has fought three wars with Pakistan. Ironically in all the three wars, India was provoked by Pakistan. It is important to note here that for Pakistan, the primary policy is the destruction of India. Pakistan has nurtured several terror organisations which fight the proxy war against India when its army cannot be used.

Groups such as the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad are made, funded and allowed to carry out large scale destruction in India. When Pakistan is not fighting a war, it unleashes its terrorists into India. It has funded Indian homegrown terror outfits such as the Students Islamic Movement of India and the Indian Mujahideen.

The Kargil War that Gurmehar speaks about claimed the lives of 530 Indian soldiers. Yes, 530 Indian soldiers made the supreme sacrifice while guarding our borders against a Pakistan invasion. My friend Gaurav Sawant writes on Twitter," Pakistan (army) killed father and 530 other Indian soldiers in Kargil. Pakistan ISI and jihadis hijacked IC 814 in December 1999, killed another Indian."

While these are the statistics relating to the Kargil War, here is what Pakistan's terrorists backed by the Pakistan established did in India. Between 1998 and 2017, there have been 47,234 incidents of terror attacks. Approximately 14,743 civilians were killed in these terror attacks across the country. About 6,276 security personnel were martyred battling terrorists.

What Gurmehar and her supporters must realise that no Indian soldier wants war. It is Pakistan which has made wars and proxy wars a policy. Pakistan has only one agenda and that is to destabilise India. They do not care if their economy is in shambles or their people have no food to eat. What is more important for them is to keep engaging India in war. Having said this, I would like to conclude by saying,"Pakistan killed the Indian soldiers."
