Mumbai: Lizard found in milkshake; restaurant forced to issue apology letter
Mumbai, July 14: A hotel in Vasai, Mumbai landed in trouble when a family members claimed that they found living lizard in milkshake which was served to them at the restaurant.
The incident took place on July 11. The family created a ruckus at the restaurant and refused to leave the place without taking apology letter from the management.
Later the restaurant management was forced to issue an apology letter which they handed over to the family. However, the management refused to accept the claim that it was not a lizard but dust particles.
Media report quoted the management official of the restaurant as saying, "The family had claimed that they were served a live lizard in a milkshake, but when we checked the drink, we found dust particles, but they demanded an apology letter."
Meanwhile, President of Vasai Taluka Hotel Association, Prakash Hegde, too supported the management of the restaurant. Hegde has been quoted as saying that many patrons create such controversies as they do not want to pay bills.
"Many patrons indulge in petty acts like mixing insects and glass pieces inside the food and then blame the restaurant," said Hegde while adding that they have been thinking of installing CCTV cameras to monitor patron's movement inside restaurants.
