In Kashmir 133 terrorists killed, 70 to go
The month of August was hugely successful for the forces. 17 terrorists were killed in August alone.
The Indian Armed forces have killed 133 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir so far this year. If one goes by the Intelligence Bureau statistics there were a total of 200 terrorists in the Valley. This means that there are just around 70 terrorists remaining.
The Army had set a six month deadline to clean up terrorists from the Valley. It had launched "Operation Clean Up," Operations since the past four months were intense in South Kashmir which prompted a few terrorists to move north. The Army launched a fresh operations to flush out terrorists in the nothern part of the state a few days back.

The month of August was hugely successful for the forces. 17 terrorists were killed in August alone. Among those killed are 38 terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba while 37 were from the Hizbul Mujahideen in the past seven months. 54 were unidentified while the rest were from the Zakir Musa faction.
However the bigger success for the forces was the killing of 6 top commanders of both the Hizbul and Lashkar. The Indian Army had prepared a hit list of 19 top terrorists and has so far managed to gun down 6 of them.
