Delhi Horror: 7-year-old kid mauled to death by stray dogs
New Delhi, Aug 4: Stray dogs at Jamia Nagar slums in South Delhi have become a serious threat for residents of the area. While many have been complaining about the dogs since last 8-9 months, municipality authorities reportedly remained unaffected.
Now, a 7-year-old kid has become the first victim as he was mauled to death by the angry dogs. The horrible incident took place on Tuesday, Aug 4.

The 7-year-old victim has been identified as Mamun. He was a resident of Jamia Nagar slums. According to Delhi Police, a group of 4-5 dogs attacked Mamun and brutally shred him into pieces.
A police official was quoted as saying, "The dogs brutally tore the child. When a neighbour saw and tried to save him, the dogs attacked him as well. He raised an alarm and other people managed to free the child from the clutches of the dogs."

Parents of the child along with other neighbours rushed him to a nearby hospital where Mamun was declared brought dead.
It has been reported that many stray dogs roam in the deserted area near Jamia Nagar slums. The dogs earlier had bit several people in the locality before the latest deadly incident.

Media report quoted a shop owner of the neighbourhood, Mohd Maqsood as saying, "There is a major problem of stray dogs in the locality. Despite many complaints to the municipal authorities, they do not enter the area. They only take away stray dogs from the main road."
