He demanded a rollback in the fuel prices terming the prices beyond the capacity of the common man. "This time increase of petrol price is almost Rs 3, there has been an increase in petrol and diesel prices almost 6 times this year. Reduce the tax by 10 per cent and roll back petrol and diesel price hike," he said.
BJP MP Ananth Kumar also raised the issue of rising fuel prices and blamed the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for not being able to manage the economy properly. "Unfortunate that the UPA govt under Congress is raising the petrol and diesel prices every day," he said.
BJP MP Ananth Kumar gave an adjournment motion over the fuel price hike while BJP MP Hansraj Ahir has filed an adjournment motion over the coalgate issue.
Rajya sabha was adjourned till 12 pm after an uproar over quota. The issue of Gujarat CM's resignation and missing coal files was also raised in the House.
There are crucial bills pending in Parliament due to be to be taken up in the remaining three days of the monsoon session.
