IAS officer's death: Shutdown in Kolar, national highway blocked
Kolar (Karnataka), March 17: Protests broke out in Kolar on Tuesday over the mysterious death of senior IAS officer DK Ravi in his apartment near Koramangla in Bengaluru on Monday evening.
The city police commissioner rushed to Ravi's residence and later told reporters that prima facie the case appeared to a case of suicide and no suicide note was found. Ravi who was the additional commissioner of commercial taxes (enforcement), was known to be a fearless officer and had taken on several powerful people.
Ravi was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her wife.
The national highway was blocked in Kolar where Ravi had taken on the sand mafia and several organisations there also called for a shutdown.
Former railway minister Sadananda Gowda expressed shock over Ravi's death. The Centre also asked the Karnataka government to take action into the case.
