security
situation

the
country.

Pune, Aug 1: Four bomb blasts rocked Pune creating a panic situation in the area. The blasts reportedly took place near Dena Bank, Bal Gandharv theatre and a McDonalds outlet on the Jungli Maharaj Road. After less than an hour, a fourth blast took place at Garware Chowk in the city. No casualties have been reported so far. All the blasts happened within a radius of 1km. The first explosion was reported around 7.30 pm. The series of blasts occurred between 7.30 and 8.30 pm.
Gulabrao Pol, Pune Police Commissioner has ruled out a terror angle and say that this was the work of some mischief makers. No terror groups have taken responsibility for the low intensity blasts.
The bombs were placed in a garbage can and a cycle carrier. As soon as the blast took place, bomb squads rushed to the place and cordoned off the area.
The blast was of low intensity in nature.
