8 Chinese spies arrested from Himachal monastery

Mandi district (HP), Jun 13: The Himachal Pradesh police arrested 8 Chinese nationals after being found in suspicious circumstances. They were arrested from Jongsar monastery in Mandi district. They have been arrested on charges of visa violation.

The police also recovered Rs 30 lakh, $3000, mobile phones and Chinese SIM cards from them. They were reported to be under police surveillance for the last couple of days.

The arrest comes at a time when the threat against Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama was intensifying.

The Himachal police and a unit of the Intelligence Bureau are currently interrogating the Chinese nationals.
