UP:BJP MLA alleges threat to life; seeks additional security

"The threat calls were made after I had strongly opposed the district administration's move to demolish the houses of poor in Ballia district," BJP MLA from Phephana Upendra Tiwari told reporters here today.
Tiwari held revenue minister Ambika Chaudhary responsible for the demolition of the houses of poor without serving any prior notice to the affected families.
The BJP MLA accused Chaudhary of acting out of political vendetta as he had defeated the minister from Phephana seat in the recent UP assembly polls.
Tiwari also accused the revenue minister of land grabbing in Kapuri village. Majority of the gram sabha land in Kapuri village is under Chaudhary's possession, he said adding that a complaint along with the key documents related to the matter have been handed over to the Chief Minister.
