Andhra Pradesh: Curfew in Hyderabad following communal riots
Citing the grave situation, senior police officials deployed additional forces in and around the region on Sunday morning. Cops stated, "The situation is now under control. Appealing the crowd to stay calm and not to believe any rumour, officials asserted, "We are keeping strict watch in the sensitive areas."
The situation became violent when people started gathering near a religious place to verify the news over the presence of meat near the place (religious place) in the city.
Circumstances worsened when two groups of people soon began pelting stones at each other. All shops, schools were shut following the violence in the city. Meanwhile, police also informed, "Miscreants also pelted stones at buses damaging glass-panes, besides setting fire to at least two vehicles." Two incidents of stabbing has also been reported.
