UP Polls campaign: Showtime begins for Maya, Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, Feb 1: With the forthcoming UP assembly elections on its way, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati and Congress President Sonia Gandhi are all set to kickstart their campaigns on Wednesday, Feb 1.

While Sonia will address rallies in Gonda and Deoria, Mayawati will hold her rally in Sitapur and Barabanki.

KL Sharma, Rahul Gandhi's representative, talking about Priyanaka Gandhi who campaigned in twin constituencies of Rae Bareli and Amethi, said that she will now address 'nukkar sabhas' (roadside meetings) and will take part in road shows during her stay in Amethi and Rae Bareli.

The Congress playing its minority card have promised reservation for socially and economically backward castes and very backward Dalits. The party also vowed to ensure that more jobs were created with more employment opportunities for the people in the state. It also said that UP skills and employment mission would also be launched to impart training and skills to 20 lakh youths and placements would given to them through this mission for the next 5 years.
