Why did Rajinikanth call Jayalalithaa first?

New Delhi, Jun 20: In a letter addressing his fans, Superstar Rajinikanth said that he spoke to Jayalalithaa first after being discharged from the hospital because of her generosity to extend him support during his treatment time.

He further said that he called M Karunanidhi, the ex-chief Minister, Tamil Nadu later because of Karunanidhi's love and affection towards him.

Rajinikanth had spoken to Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu and congratulated her on her recent victory in the state on Jun 16, after he was discharged from the hospital. He also told her that he would return to India shortly.

Dhanush, Rajinikanth's son-in-law's tweet read: "Superstar discharged from hospital. He has recovered completely and taking rest. Soon national award celebrations :) god bless."

The actor is currently on a vacation, his family had said adding he will be back in Jul.

After Rajinikanth started shooting for "Rana", a Tamil period movie, the actor started complaining of exhaustion, following which he was admitted to several hospitals.

The superstar was admitted to intensive care unit of the city-state's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

The 60-year-old hero had been suffering from acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems and was admitted to hospital thrice since Apr 29. Later he was taken to Singapore for better treatment.
