Jagan's moment of reckoning today in Kadapa by polls
The 13.29 lakh voters in the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency and another 1.89 lakh in Pulivendula Assembly segment will cast their votes in this election game with high stakes for Jagan in particular. With many calling it a public feud within the family, the elections will see late AP Chief Minister YSR Reddy's wife and Jagan's mother Vijayalaxmi contesting from Pulivendula against YSR's brother, Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
Heavy security is in place during the couse of the elections between 8am to 5pm and close to 12,000 policemen have been deployed and authorities are taking all efforts to make the polling process peaceful. According to EC, out of the 1500 polling stations in Kadapa, 584 have been identified as sensitive, 187 termed hyper sensitive and as much as 487 ones termed troublesome.
With both parties expressing confidence of their victory, this will be Jagan's moment of reckoning and if the results are positive for Jagan will see the YSR Congress Party opening their account for the first time. After the election campaign elicited thundering response from the public who showered their affection towards Jagan who is considered the representation of his father's goodwill, it remains to be seen if the goodwill converts into votes.
