Robbers arrested in south Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) A gang of robbers, includingtheir teenaged leader, were arrested in south Delhi for theiralleged involvement in a number of robberies, including one ofrobbing a businessman at gunpoint, police said today.
The arrested have been identified as Prem Kumar (19), thegang leader, Vinay Kumar Jha (21), peon of the businessman,and Raju Nishad (27).
"They hatched a conspiracy with the servant of thevictim, who instigated them and provided the tip-off regardingmovement of cash," DCP (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
Jyoti Kumar Rajgarhia, the businessman, had on November26 last year approached police claiming that two persons hadheld his peon Jha hostage on gunpoint and decamped with Rs2.10 lakh cash and other valuables.
"When he tried to confront them, the robbers threw chillipowder in Rajgharia''s eyes," Dhaliwal said.
Investigators had suspicion on Jha but the businessmansaid he is his most reliable person and would not be involvedin the incident.
"Yesterday we managed to catch Kumar from Sangam Viharfollowing an input about his involvement in the incident.
During questioning, it came to light that he along with Nishadand Jha had committed the robbery," Dhaliwal said.
Kumar left his studies when he was in Class V and startedworking with a private photographer. He later became aphotographer and came in contact with Jha and Nishad.
