Two killed in separate mishaps, college student arrested
Mumbai, Feb 18 (PTI) In separate incidents, twopersons were killed after being hit by speeding vehicles inthe city. A college student was arrested in one case, policesaid today.
A 25-year-old pedestrian was knocked down by a speedingtwo-wheeler ridden by a student, Rahul Makhwana, lastnight near Islam Gymkhana in south Mumbai.
The pedestrian was crossing the road when Makhwana''sbike hit him, police said adding that the 20-year-old wassubsequently arrested. The victim, yet to be identified, died.
In the second incident, a bicycle rider was mowed down bya four-wheeler near Bandra Worli Sea Link last night, policesaid adding the accused escaped in their Innova car after theaccident.
According to police, the deceased, Sirajuddin Khan,(45), a resident of Nargis Nagar slum in Bandra, was onhis way home on bicycle when the car, going towardsKherwadi from the Bandra Worli sea-link, rammed into him.
Khan was rushed to the Bhabha hospital where he wasdeclared dead, police said.
The car driver is yet to be traced, police said addingfurther probe was on.
