Ceasefire violations are on decline in J-K: BSF official
Jammu, Jan 29 (PTI) Incidents of intrusions and ceasefireviolations along Indo-Pak border in Jammu frontier havedeclined due to better coordination between troops of the twosides, a top BSF official said today.
"Incidents of intrusions and ceasefire violations havedeclined sharply (along Indo-Pak border Jammu frontier)," BSFInspector General (IG) of Jammu Frontier S Chattopadhyaya toldreporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Giving details, IG said there have been 37 bids ofintrusions and ceasefire violations in the first six months of2010 and only three such incidents in past six months.
To a question about tension along the border due toceasefire violations, he said Border Security Force (BSF) andPakistani Rangers have increased their interaction and thishas helped in easing out tensions.
The BSF has been manning nearly 200 km of IB in Kathua,Jammu and Samba sectors in the state.
