Marginal increase in day temperature in lower hills of HP
Shimla, Jan 11 (PTI) Intense cold wave swept throughvarious parts of Himachal Pradesh unabated today even as daytemperatures rose in mid and lower hills.
Minimum temperature ranged between minus 17 degreeCelsuis and minus 23 deg C in high altitude areas.
Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded alow of minus 14 deg C and Kalpa in Kinnaur district recordedminus 4.8 deg C, MeT officials said.
People in the lower hills braved shivering cold waveconditions during the night as minimum temperatures hoveredaround freezing point.
Bhuntar, Sundernagar and Solan recorded a low of 0.2deg C, 0.9 deg C and 1.2 deg C. Una in Shivalik foothillsrecorded minimum temperature at 2.2 deg C followed by Mandi at2.5 deg C.
However, the maximum day temperature rose to 18.1 degC in Bhuntar, 21.6 deg C in Sundernagar and 21.2 deg C inSolan.
Temperature in state capital Shimla hovered between4.8 deg C and 14.6 deg C while at Dharamsala, it was between3.3 deg C and 19.8 deg C.
The Local Met office has predicted dry weatherthroughout the state for next three days with marginal relieffrom cold wave in lower and mid hills.
