Science-Commerce-Arts barriers to be broken soon
New Delhi, Jun 28: Students will soon have the option of selecting subjects that they are interested in cutting across the existing rigid system of science, commerce and humanities (arts) streams in Class XI, XII and graduation.
The human resources development (HRD) ministry has initiated steps towards turning the dreams of several students of having multi-disciplinary subject combinations into a reality.
To make suggestions on allowing flexibility in subject combinations to students at senior secondary and graduation level, a ten-member panel, headed by SC Khuntia, joint secretary, department of school education and literacy, has been set up.
A news agency quoting a senior CBSE official stated that the committee is scheduled to submit its report by Sep 2010.
