Vijayawada Cong MP resigns over Telangana
Hyderabad, Dec 10: The Centre's decision to grant a separate Telangana has claimed its first casualty as the Congress MP from Vijayawada, Mr Lagadapati Rajgopal has resigned.
After two rounds of high level meeting, Home Minister P Chidambaram made the announcement on Wednesday, Dec 9 night on Centre's approval to initiate the process of dividing Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
This decision came after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao managed to coerce the Centre with a fast unto death.
On the announcement of the Centre's decision, the TRS chief, known as KCR, broke the fast that he carried out for eleven days despite critical deterioration of health.
