Arrested NY bombing plot terror suspect traveled to Pakistan in 2008
New York, Oct.10 (ANI): Investigations being carried out into the massive Al-Qaeda backed bombing plot has revealed that Najibullah Zazi, the airport shuttle bus driver arrested earlier, had traveled to Pakistan with another two men, Zarein Ahmedzay, and Adis Medunjanin.
The two men, one of whom attended Flushing High School with Zazi, have denied their involved with the Al Qaeda, saying they didn't have any role in the bombing plot.
The investigation into the alleged plot, which is being conducted by the Joint Terrorism Task Force and Federal Prosecutors in Brooklyn, have now focused their probe around the two men in question, The New York Times reports.
"Zazi and others flew from Newark Liberty International Airport to Peshawar, Pakistan," said a detention memorandum filed in federal court by the officials.
However, a young woman who claimed to be Ahmedzay's sister said her brother went to Pakistan about the same time as Zazi, but stressed that both had traveled separately.
"We know we're innocent," she said on conditions of anonymity. (ANI)
