Osama bin Laden resurfaces, calls Obama powerless
New York, Sep 14: Just days after the Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari claimed that Osama bin Laden is not alive the al-Qaeda chief resurfaces. Laden who usually addresses the United States in a message around the September 11 anniversary, released the latest video on Sunday, Sep 13.
The 11 minute video is "to remind you of the causes" of Sept. 11, chiefly "your support to your Israeli allies who occupy our land of Palestine," Laden was quoted as saying in a translation done by SITE Intelligence Group, a terrorist-monitoring firm.
Blaming the war on on the 'pro-Israel lobby' and corporate interests, the al-Qaeda chief said that president Barack Obama was 'powerless' to stop the war in Afghanistan.
Laden rubbished the claim that the war is necessary for US security by arguing that the current White House officials are merely following the strategy of former President George W Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney to "promote the previous policies of fear to market the interests of big companies."
