London, Feb 23 (ANI): Singer Lily Allen insists that she is not ashamed of undergoing therapy to come to terms with the problems she has had to face in her life.

In an interview to Fabulous magazine, the 23-year-old star admits that she doesn't like to hide the fact.

"I'm not ashamed of going to hospital or for therapy," the News of the World quoted her as saying.

"Too many famous people try to hide the fact they've needed some help - it shouldn't be like that.

"People with normal lives need a bit of help sometimes. My life is anything but normal.

"It's weird. I've got a funny head and I need to sort it out sometimes. I go and see a head doctor and then it all makes sense" she added.

At the age of 18, Allen was suicidal and checked into The Priory after her relationship with her then boyfriend, DJ Lester Lloyd, ended.

That also inspired her chart-topping debut single Smile.

The 'It's Not Me, It's You' hitmaker was so depressed following the miscarriage of her baby, fathered by Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons, 38, that she turned to professionals at a UK facility to help her come to terms with the tragedy. (ANI)
