Sikh arrested for helping LeT militants
Srinagar, Jan 24: A Sikh Youth has been arrested by Jammu Kashmir Police for allowing Lashkar-e-Toiba militants operate his house as make-shift ammunition dump in exchange for liquor.
Popinder Singh, was working as X-ray technician with state health service, was arrested from his house in Choudhal in frontier district of Handwara after he was named by an arrested militant, official sources said.
"During investigation into a grenade throwing incident at Handwara, police had arrested a person identified as Aslam who led to another Lashkar operative and the trail led to Singh," they said.
Police said that Popinder Singh was an alchoholic and let the Lashkar militants operate his house. The Police have recovered two hand-grenades and a pistol from his house.
