Shiv Sena activist files PIL against ATS in High Court
Mumbai, Nov 20 (UNI) A Shiv Sena activist today filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the Bombay High Court, praying transfer of the September 29 Malegaon blast case to the Maharashtra CID.
The petitioner, Shilpa Deshmukh also prayed to the Court to order for judicial probe into the alleged harassment of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, key accused in the case, by the ATS officials.
She said in the petition that the ATS was acting in a biased manner and asked the Court to issue certain guidelines regarding conduction of Narco test on the accused.
Ms Deshmukh also prayed that Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and ATS officers should be retrained from divulging any information pertaining to the blast to the media.
Speaking to mediapersons, Ms Deshmukh said she was an active worker of Shiv Sena, but she had not discussed anything about filing of the PIL to party chief Balasaheb Thackeray nor Executive President Uddhav Thackeray.
''It was my personal decision to file the PIL, which will come up for hearing in due course of time,'' she added.
