New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) In what is seen as a battle of wits with Congress-NCP coalition in Maharashtra concerning Malegoan blasts, the BJP today renominated Yogi Adityanath to contest Lok Sabha polls from Gorakhpur in the first list of 11 MPs from the country's biggest state.
The BJP's first list was released in the light of Maharashtra ATS obtaining permission of the trial court in Nashik to probe the involvement of a heavyweight politician from Uttar Pradesh as the speculations suggest that the ATS may question the sitting BJP MP.
The Yogi who is also the head of Goraknath temple, the presiding deity of the region, has joined the BJP ranks from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Asked about the possibility of the Maharashtra ATS start probing in UP, the sitting Gorakhpur MP told a television channel in his hometown that the probe seemed to be inspired by Congress. However, he would welcome the probe to unearth the truth.
Answering questions regarding arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, the Yogi said he did not believe that the Hindu Sadhvi could be involved in the blasts.
