Raj Thackeray should be charged with sedition : Nishad
Patna, Nov 8 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior JD(U) leader Jai Narain Nishad today expressed serious concern over unabated violence against north Indians, especially Biharis in Maharashtra, and demanded that MNS chief Raj Thackeray be booked under National Security Act.
Mr Nishad told mediapersons here that the series of violent attacks against Biharis by the ''goons'' of the MNS chief in Maharashtra had made them aliens in their own country.
These incidents had posed serious threats to the unity and integrity of the country and those sinister elements should be dealt with an iron hand.
''It is strange to note that despite demands from all corners, the Vilasrao Deshmukh government is yet to book Mr Thackeray under the National Security Act,'' he said and urged the Maharashtra government to lodge a case charging him with sedition without further delay.
Mr Nishad supported the move of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to ensure safety and security of Biharis in Maharashtra.
The Centre would soon take action against the Vilasrao Deshmukh government to ensure security of Biharis in Maharshtra, he hoped.
