Hanuman's 108-foot high statue at Jakhu temple
Shimla, Oct 27 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today performed 'pooja' to pave the way for the erection of 108-foot high statue of Lord Hanuman in the premises of Hanuman Temple, Jakhu, here today.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister thanked Mr Nikhil Nanda, Managing Director of HC Nanda Trust, Delhi, for undertaking the pious work of erecting the statue of Lord Hanuman. The work on the statue was started on Mahavir Jayanti this year.
Prof Dhumal said that the statue would add to the promotion of religious tourism promotion in the capital town and the flow of devotees to the temple on Jakhu top where Lord Hanuman is believed to have come in search for the 'Sanjeevani Booti'.
