Honda Siel's second plant inaugurated in Rajasthan
Tapukara, Alwar, Sep 26 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the second plant of Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCIL) here today.
The inauguration of phase-one operations include unveiling of the state-of-the-art press facilities and modern and technologically advanced powertrain units for engine components.
''The press and powertrain units will supply body panels and engine components to Greater Noida plant...this second plant will also be used for providing components for the third generation Honda City,'' Honda Motors President and CEO Takeo Fukui told reporters here.
The company's first plant at Greater Noida has a capacity of manufacturing 1,00,000 cars, while the Rajasthan plant has a capacity of 60,000 units at an initial investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
The new plant already has a headcount of 250 which will be doubled to 500 by the current-fiscal end.
The company will also set up a college for imparting technical education in automobile technologies, under which a three-year Honda certificate programme will be offered to the enrolled students.
