INS Taringini flagged off on multi-nation expedition
Kochi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Indian Navy today flagged off a multi-nation sailing expedition of INS Taringini with 51 NDA cadets on board, to mark the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Vice-Admiral Sunil K Damle, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command, flagged off the expedition from the Naval Base here in the presence of Air Marshal T S Randhawa, Commandant, National Defence Academy.
INS Tarangini, a sail training ship of the Indian Navy, would call on the ports of Salalah (Oman), Port Victoria (Seychelles), Maldives and Colombo. The ship is commanded by Commander AS Patankar.
A total of 51 cadets and two officers of the National Defence Academy would get an opportunity to taste the sea farer's life, a spokesperson for the Southern Naval Command said.
