HJS president slams Orissa govt on Swami Laxmanananda murder
Mumbai, Sep 8 (UNI) Hindu Jagaran Samukhya (HJS) president Ashok Sahu today accused the Orissa government of deliberately giving a Maoist colour to the murder of Swami Laxmanananda on August 22 at his Ashram Jalasapata.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Sahu said ''The Orissa government failed to protect the Swami in spite of repeated warnings and threats on his life from Christian militants, Maoists and local politicians with vested interests.'' Mr Sahu said, ''On August 13, a threat had been issued in the district, which included the Swami as one of the targets. The swami had appealed to the District Magistrate to enhance his personal security.'' He has also demanded a CBI enquiry into the incident and said the state government has lost its moral right to continue in power.
