Extensive data book on Chandigarh released
Chandigarh, Sep 1 (UNI) Special Secretary Finance and Director Economics and Statistics, Chandigarh, Raji P Shrivastava today released the "Statistical Abstract-2007", offering reliable and comprehensive statistics pertaining to various aspects of the economy of the Union Territory.
Brought out by Directorate of Economics and Statistics (Statistical Cell) Chandigarh Administration, the publication is 20th in the series and is being sold at a subsidised rate of Rs 100.
Mr Suresh Kumar, Research Officer said, "To enhance the utilisation of this publication, new chapters on Red Cross branches, religious places, dharmshalas, village wise profile, E-Gram Sampark Centres and e-Jan Sampark Centres, have been included.
The data covered in this publication is extensive and touches upon almost all the Socio-Economic aspects such as area and population, economic census, employees census, climate and rainfall, agriculture, forest, marketing and storage, medical and health, livestock and related activities, energy, industries, water supply, financial activities, property, education, labour and employment, stock, transport and communication, housing, police, accident data, welfare, food and civil supplies, plan, electoral statistics, price indices, local bodies, tourism, entertainment, newspapers, intoxicants, index of industrial production and state domestic product.
The data will also be made available on the website of the UT Chandigarh.
