YSR launches 'Arogyasri' in Kothaguldem
Khammam, Aug 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today launched ''Arogyasri'' scheme at Kothagudem town in this district.
Speaking on the occasion at a public meeting, Dr Reddy said under the scheme the government would render free medical service for various ailments to the poor while treatment for heart problems would be provided at corporate hospitals free of cost.
Claiming that his government had fulfilled all poll promises by implementing Rs two per Kg rice scheme sucessfully in the state, he said 104 mobile hospital services, launched recently to provide free medical services at the door steps in the villages, would be implemented in here next month.
Stating that the government would allocate Rs 100 crore for the implementation of 104 services, Dr Reddy said free transportation and food facility would be provided to the patients, who were undergoing treatment at hospitals and those accompanying them under the this scheme.
Alleging that the opposition parties were politicising Arogyasri without understanding the scheme, the Chief Minister said the government was taking steps to provide irrigation water to four lakh acres of farm lands additionally in the coming months.
