New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) That Kamal Nath is quite preoccupied with Congress party politics in Madhya Pradesh was today confirmed by none other than the Commerce and Industry Minister himself when he expressed his apology for turning up late at a media conference, saying he was held up by his native state.
''I am sorry for being late....I was held up by Madhya Pradesh,'' he said when he arrived late by over 15 minutes at the press conference he had convened to brief the media about free trade agreement India has reached with the 10-nation Asean trading bloc yesterday.
Asked if he was ready to accept congratulations in advance, a smiling Kamal Nath quipped,''No'' but at the same time asked the questioner why he wanted to congratulate him.
To this, the journalist alluded to a consensus reached on his projection as Congress chief ministerial candidate in Madhya Pradesh which goes to polls later this year. This had became evident at the Congress rally held in Chhindwara recently.
Mr Kamal Nath is the party Lok Sabha member from Chhindwara.
Most senior Congress leaders, including former chief minister Digvijay has projected Mr Kamal Nath as a future leader of the state which is presently ruled by the BJP.
