GIM organises 2-day conference on Green Infrastructure
Panaji, Aug 23 (UNI) The Goa Institute of Management (GIM) here has organised a two-day national conference on 'Green Infrastructure' from August 30 to explore its feasibility and the business implications in the country.
The seminar will draw corporates and opinion makers from across the country. The speakers who will address the conference include former power minister Dr Suresh Prabhu, Dr Sharad Kale of Bhaba Atomic Research Atomic Centre, Ahmar Raza from the Ministry of Renewable Energy, Anil Kane, President of World Wind Energy Association and Corporate Advisor to Suzlon Energy Ltd, and K Subramanya, chief executive officer of TATA-BP Solar.
The event will help explore the possibility of forming partnerships with the Goa government and corporate houses for sustainable development.
The conference aims to adopt a solution-based approach to various issues, which include waste management, green power and green ports and airports.
The conference will also analyse the role of green architecture in today's world with special emphasis on eco-tourism and the need for green housing in the future.
The seminar, according to Alan D'Souza, Director of GIM, is a student-driven initiative.
