Greater Noida, Aug 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today reiterated that Samajwadi Party(SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav was responsible for the Ghorhi Bachera incident in which four farmers were killed on August 13.
''It was the result of wrong decisions taken by the previous SP government,'' she said during her speech at the inauguration of the Gautam Buddha University here.
Equating the Congress with the SP, she said the opposition parties ''intentionally misled'' the farmers on the issue and instigated them to agitate resulting in the loss of lives.
''Acquisition of around 1434 hactares of land in Ghorhi Bachera and in some other villages was done by the previous SP government in 2006-07 and for this the party had the support of the Congress,'' she said.
Ms Mayawati claimed that almost all the issues had been resolved by discussing it with the representatives of the village and now there was no agitation.
Terming the incident as pre-planned, she said the oppostion had no other issues against her government.
'' The opposition parties are indulging in such activities due to the coming general elections,'' she said.
