Shankaracharya terms Bukhari's statement ''irresponsible''
Varanasi, Aug 22 (UNI) Taking strong exception over Jama Majid shahi Imam Ahmad Bukhari's allegation over the Hindu organisations of instigating terrorism in the nation, Kashi Sumerupeethadhishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Narendrananda Sarasvati discarded his statement as ''impractical'',''undemocratic'' and ''irresponsible.'' Talking to mediapersons at his math here today, the Shankaracharya said no Muslim cleric or leader should give statements which could spurt violence and disrupt peace and harmony in the country.
He further said it was ''irresponsible act'' by a person holding such a high religious post.
Advising the muslim youths to not get carried away by the Imam's ''impractical'' speech, the saint asked them to follow the path which is good for the nation.
Getting assertive over the peace and harmony in the country, the jagatguru said if anyone tried to erupt communal disharmony he would be replied back with the same force.
The Shankaracharya further demanded the government to put a ban over Bukhari's public speach as it could ignite violence in the country.
Mr Bukhari yesterday alleged that not SIMI but Hindu organisations like VHP, RSS and Shiv Sena were behind the Ahmedabad blast and termed the blast's prime accused Abul Bashar as ''innocent''.
He also demanded the government to release Bashar and warned of nationwide agitation if the needful not done. Besides, demanding judicial probe into the matter.
