Peaches Geldof accused of wedding 'stunt' to boost boyfriend's band
London, Aug 18 : Peaches Geldof has been accused that her marriage to American rocker Max Drummey was a stunt to boost ticket sales for his band's UK tour.
Drummey and his band Chester French were unknown in the UK before the wedding last week but just days after the marriage hit the headlines, the band announced that they are booked for five UK gigs this week.
Geldof and Drummey have since been pictured without their wedding rings - with him claiming he had taken it off as it "gets in the way" of his guitar playing.
"Most of her friends think the whole thing is just a big publcity stunt. No one is taking it seriously. It's a bit difficult to believe the wedding and the band's tour would happen so close together," the Mirror quoted a friend of Geldof, as saying
The marriage of guitarist Drummey to the daughter of Sir Bob Geldof last week has sent the band's status here soaring.
"If the marriage is a stunt it's working well for the band so far. The only problem is that now everyone suspects it is a stunt, Peaches will probably get a real telling off from her dad," the friend added.
The couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas wedding chapel.
Sir Bob only found out about it 15 minutes beforehand.
