Congress must resolve administrative crisis: Left
Puducherry, Aug 13: The Left parties in Puducherry on Wednesday, Aug 13 reiterated that the Congress High Command should initiate steps to find an amicable stttlement to the prevailing administrative crisis in the Union Territory.
Addressing a joint press conference here, CPI Puducherry Unit Secretary Nara Kalainathan and CPM secretary V Perumal said the five Ministers should have participated in the cabinet meeting convened by the Chief Minister and discussed the financial position of the Union Territory.
But the ministers boycotted the two cabinet meetings citing different reasons. The people had every right to know the real reason for boycotting the conference and it should be revealed, they demanded.
They also charged that for the last four months, none of the promises were fullfilled and welfare schemes were also not implemented.
Mr Kalainathan pointed out that as far as the CPI(M) was concerned its state committee is Tamil Nadu and obiviously it will follow the decisions taken in that state. However, for the CPI the state committee would meet in the first week of September to discuss the prevailing political situation here and to take a decision.
He said the national council had directed that the CPI should be with the front sans the Congress and BJP. In Puducherry CPI only had an election agreement with the Congress and there was not even a CMP, he added.
