Media baron Murdoch meets PM, Sonia, Advani

New Delhi, Jul 31 (UNI) Media baron Rupert Murdoch today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Mr Murdoch, who arrived in the capital last evening, also had a meeting with Leader of the Oposition L K Advani, Star TV sources told UNI.

The media baron first called on the Prime Minister and it is believed that the issue of FDI figured in the discussions beween the two.

After talks with Dr Singh, Mr Murdoch drove up to 10 Janpath to have a meeting with Ms Gandhi, at which Congress MP and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi was also present.

Mr Murdoch will fly to Mumbai tomorrow. He is scheduled to have meetings with Mr Ratan Tata, Mr Aveek Sarkar of the Anand Bazar Patrika Group and other senior figures in the Star group management, the sources said.
