Hyderabad, Jul 2 (UNI) The main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today took strong exception to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy allegedly delivering a ''political speech'' at the Collectors' conference.

Senior TDP leader K Vijayarama Rao told a press conference here that the Chief Minister had turned the two-day District Collectors' conference into an ''election meeting''.

It was not proper on the part of the Chief Minister to put the blame on the District Collectors for all the problems in the State, including price rise, he opined, alleging that the District Collectors were facing acute ''political pressure'' from the ruling Congressmen, including Ministers, MPs and MLAs.

''We strongly condemn the attitude of the Chief Minister, who has not paid attention to the problems concerning the farmers, including acute shortage of seeds and fertilisers in the State'', TDP Floor Leader in the Legislative Council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said. The Government had no clue as to how to ease the shortage, he claimed.
