Centre's 172.38 cr largesse to K'taka, Haryana
New Delhi, Jul 1 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs 172.38 crore to Haryana and Karnataka as Grant-in-Aid under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojana (PMGSY).
The amount will be received by the respective State Rural Roads and Infrastructure Development Agencies.
An amount of Rs 107.2 crore has been sanctioned as Grants-in-aid as of 1st instalment for Phase-VII (2007-08) to Haryana Rural Roads and Infrastructure Development Agency, which is an Autonomous Agency for receiving funds under PMGSY.
The Karnataka Rural Roads Development Agency (KRRDA), an Autonomous body for receiving funds under PMGSY, has been allocated Rs 65.36 crore as balance payment of 2nd installment of Phase VI as Grants-in-Aid under the scheme.
All these agencies will maintain separate accounts for this grant and submit utilisation certificate and Audit Reports for the amount already released and being released now, to claim further dues.
The grant is towards plan expenditure and subject to the provisions of PMGSY guidelines and supplementary directions issued there under.
