165th anniversary of Mangalore Samachar held
Bangalore, Jul 1 (UNI) Marking the 165th year of the launch of first newspaper in the state, 'Mangalore Samachar', a seminar on 'Development and Journalism' was held here today.
Speaking during the event, which was jointly conducted by State Information Department and Media Acadamy, senior journalist and Times of India Kannada editor Ishwar Daithota said that 'development journalism' is a vital part of journalism and needs keen interest in the subject to excel.
Senior journalists S R Shreesha, C G Manjula, Shanthala Dharmaraj, Hamid palya, P Ismail, K Gopinath, B Samivulla and Sridhar Achar had presented their views on Development Journalism on the occasion.
