Food Ministry accords priority for enumeration of family cards
Tiruchirapalli, Jun 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Food Minister A V Velu said that his Ministry has accorded priority for enumeration of family cards to eliminate bogus ration cards to ensure availability of essential commodities and other Government benefits to all eligible and genuine cardholders.
Inaugurating a training programme for the staff, who would carry out the enumeration and spot verification process in the district here yesterday, the Minister said ''enumeration is the need of the hour and genuine card holders need not have any apprehension.'' The officials involved in the work would also collect information from people with out ration cards, those who had applied for new cards and those who had changed their residence, he said, and added that based on the informations collected, new cards would be provided.
