Reva Electric Car Co bags European award
Bangalore, June 6: The city-based Reva Electric Car Company (RECC) has bagged the Frost and Sullivan European Automotive Powertrain Company of the Year award. The honour was for demonstrating excellence in sales volumes, superior market penetration and high levels of customer satisfaction within the electric vehicle (EV) industry in Europe.
In 2007, on an average, a REVA electric car was sold per day in the United Kingdom. ''The award recognises RECC as one of the world's leading R and D centres for EVs and reflects the company's position as the world's number one EV manufacturer,'' Mr Keith Johnston, RECC President (European Operations), said in a release here today. RECC is the world's best selling developer and manufacturer of electric cars and a pioneer in EV technologies. It is the first company to break through the price-performance barrier with an EV, the first to successfully commercialise EVs and the first to volume sell EVs with AC motor drives.
