HP's effort on power sector reforms lauded
Shimla, Jun 3 (UNI) Union Power Minister Sushil Shinde, has lauded Himachal Pradesh's power banking system with adjoining States of Punjab and Haryana while complimenting its efforts for achieving minimum transmission losses in the state.
He also lauded the Himachal's efforts in the field of power sector reforms during his meeting with state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who called on him at Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dhumal said the state electricity board would strive for providing quality services to the consumers of the state.
He declared focus attention would be given to investigation, planning and execution of hydro electric projects in the state.
Referring to the MoU signed between the Centre and the state in 2001 on Power Sector Reforms, he said Himachal was the first hilly state in the country to achieve hundred per cent electrification of villages, including the remote areas of the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district at a height of 15,124 feet.
