Doctors in Kerala to get pay hike
Thiruvananthapuram, May 23: The Kerala Government has decided to grant special pay and allowance to doctors working in government hospitals in the State, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said today.
The Cabinet approved the decision which will take effect from May one, he told reporters after a weekly Cabinet meeting here.
Mr Achuthanandan said with this, doctors in the state would get an increase of between Rs 3,400 and Rs 5,000 in their monthly salary.
The Cabinet had also decided to request the Centre to extend the time limit for reconstituting the Kerala State Electricity Board by one more year, he said.
