Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh flays Centre for price rise
Kanpur, May 16 (UNI) The Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) today expressed concern over uncontrolled price rise in the country.
Talking to newspersons, BMS president Girish Awasthi here said ''the purchasing power of general public is goning down considerably due to the uncontrolled price hike in essential commodities.
Mr Awasthi held the wrong policies of the UPA government responsible for the problem. ''The current inflation is alarming in India, as price rise of essential commodities like wheat, rice, pulses and sugar has increased 60 to 70 per cent,'' he charged.
The government should start Public Distribution System in a big way, the BMS leader said.
The BMS has already started a public awareness drive against the price rise from May 15 to May 21.
