Vijay Amritraj not surprised over Justine Henin retirement

Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) Indian Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj today said that World Number one Justine Henin announcing her retirement from professional tennis was not surprising.

"Justine retirement not a surprise, She had put a lot of pressure on herself", he told newsmen at a press conference here.

He said that however, it was great to retire when you are at the peak.

Amritraj said that "though it was (retirment) in her since last one year. But when at 26 others think of going further despite achieving top position, is really great".

He said that " though it was not age to retire she has retired when she was at the top".

Justine, winner of seven Grand Slam titles, announced her retirement yesterday at Brussels saying that "it is the end of a wonderful adventure but it was something I have been thinking about for a long time." She had been expected to defend her French Open title later this month, instead she opted retirement.
